The Bagh, Bharatpur Luxury Jungle RetreatThe Bagh is a heritage hotel set in 12 acres two hundred year-old garden in Bharatpur Rajasthan, it is located just four hours away from major destinations such as Delhi, Jaipur and Gwalior. The Bagh offers visitors an opportunity to experience quiet luxury near Keoladeo Ghana National Park, one of the most famous bird sanctuaries in the world. The hotel's fourteen rooms are located in three different residential complexes.A restaurant, banquet hall, coffee shop, library and a gym, all situated in a verdant orchard, allow guests to enjoy solitude and companionship in restful indoor and outdoor spaces.

Each of the Bagh's fourteen rooms is unique. Spacious bathrooms, luxurious fabrics, fine furnishings and the amenities of modern technology let the weary traveler retreat and recoup after a day of sightseeing and bird watching. Gulmohar, the main restaurant, specializes in the wonderful vegetarian cuisine of the Braj region. An ayurvedic massage or a lazy swim at the fully - equipped gym can further soothe and exhilarate the body and the mind (to be ready shortly). With over fifty species of flora, including fruiting trees and flowering plants which attract birds, small animals and insects, guests can enjoy quiet walks in the garden and commune with nature. The handsome buildings made in local stones are designed to merge with their natural surroundings.

Works by contemporary Indian women artists are displayed throughout the complex. A stroll through the Bagh's garden and buildings leads a visitor through the realms of nature and art. Keoladeo Ghana National Park in Bharatpur hosts over three hundred fifty avian species and fifty different mammals. After bird watching in Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur, a quiet afternoon of studying natural history and ornithology awaits in the Bagh's extensive library. Lectures and slide shows by eminent naturalists increase the pleasure of learning. Experienced guides escort the guests on day excursions to nearby World Heritage and pilgrimage Sights. Visitors can also enjoy the festivals and performances that are celebrated with great delight in the Bagh.

The Bagh Resort Facilities :
The Bagh garden complex has 2.5 kilometres of walkways for guests to stroll and discover the delights of nature and art.

MAYUR :
The entrance block comprises of a reception area, a café and gift shop. The café offers a range of refreshing brews and delicious snacks. The gift sells a variety of art and craft items as well as local treats.

CHAMPA, MOGRA AND GULAB BHAVANS :
The Bagh, Bharatpur Luxury Jungle RetreatThe three residential complexes comprise a total of fourteen spacious rooms, and have in-room entertainment. Other services such as laundry and wake-up call are available. GULMOHAR : The restaurant specialize in Satvik vegetarian cuisine and delicacies from the Braj region, There is also a select offering of other dishes.

MORCHALLI : The banquet hall host private events and dinners.

MAHUA :
The outdoor bar serves an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic and drinks with light snacks. Musicians perform for the guest's pleasure.

SURKHAAB :
The vintage garage houses three vintage cars, including a 1946 Chrysler Plymouth, a1918 Model T Ford and a 1938 ten Series III Morris as well as a Triumph 1938 motorcycles.

SHEESHAM :
The recreational complex fully equipped gym and swimming pool. Ayurvedic message and other treatments are available at the spa. This is presently under development.

SEMAL :
The learning center has a library where naturalists and historians present slide lectures and conduct discussions. The amphitheatre is used for yoga sessions as well as for performances. This is presently under development.

The Bagh organises visits to place of interest within Bharatpur such as the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the old fort, the museum and the archaeological site at Noh, as well as guide excursions to place within a two hours radius outside Bharatpur. These sites include Deeg, Bund Baretta sanctuary, archaeological sites at Sonkh, Bayana, Rupwas and Kumher, the pilgrimage centres of Brindavan, Govardhan, Mathura, Barsana and of course, World Heritage sites such as the Taj Mahal at Agra and Fatehpur Sikri.

Air :
Nearest airport Agra (54 kms) from Bharatpur, Agra has daily flights for Delhi, Bombay, Varanasi (via Khajuraho) and Lucknow.

Rail :
Bharatpur is on the main Delhi - Bombay line with regular connections to Mathura, Sawai Madhopur and Kota on the same route. It is also connected with Agra.

Road : Bharatpur is well connected by road with Agra, Mathura, Delhi and Jaipur. Regular bus services operate for all major cities. Road distance to important places from Bharatpur : Agra 55 kms Fatehpur Sikri 22 Kms Mathura 39 Kms Delhi 184 kms Jaipur 176 kms Alwar 117 kms.
